hooking up s300 launch control switch
hey guys i was wondering how i would go about hooking up a switch to activate the launch control in s300. right now i have it set to always on and want to be able to switch it off to heat up the slicks. is there any way i could activate it when the emergency brake is pulled up?
if not a manual switch will be fine also. lets say i wanted to use the air conditioning switch option to activate it. do i just wire a switch to B5 on the ecu or what? dont quite get it.
thanks for the help

i think he wants to start his burnout at a different rpm than he launches at. for example, if he launches at 4500 rpm, his launch control will be set at 4500 rpm. when its time to do his burnout he may want to rev it to 7000 rpm and drop the clutch.

something like that...correct..
getting it to activate off the ebrake would be nice since i use that to preload while launching.

If you use your e-brake to preload during launching then you don't want it hooked up to your e-brake.
A lot of people I know hook it up to their a/c switch

If you are on slicks, your launch rpm should prolly be higher than 4500rpm or you will bog. It works really nice off the VSS...the only reason I would hookup a switch would be if you were also using the MSD 2Step and that's nice to have a rpm limiter for your burnout...so you aren't burning out at 8500rpm or whatever. Saves your motor...

lets bump this.. ok im going to use the B5 input on the ecu (a/c press. switch)
ok i run a wire from b5 to a switch.. then what do i do with the other wire on the manual switch? ground it?
is the B5 input for the launch control activation option controlled by ground or power switch?

dumb question.... does the s200 also work off of your speed for this same situation?

wire B5 to the power on you cruse control switch and leave the otherwire like it is. thats how i did mine last night.
it you use the cruse control switch you have to use the invert option. hope that helped. let me know if you need anymore help.

use the clutch switch. thats how mine is setup. so if im moving slower than 2mph then the 6000rpm redline is engaged. anything faster than 2mph and the car is free to to go redline.
