Default Hondata w/ AFC

Im picking up an SAFC for cheap. what i need to know is this...

My hondata is already tuned and what not, but i would like to use the SAFC to enrich the mixture for when i remove the exhaust and want to use just an open downpipe.. now im only gonna do this sometimes so thats why i wanted an SAFC... so i can make the adjustments, use them when i have just an open downpipe, then set back to normal when i put the exhaust back on..

Question... Does adjusting the safc , say when i want to enrichen the mixture... will it just enrichen the mixture from where my hondata is tuned from? will it affect my timing and how that was tuned? I have 2.5 inch exhaust from the TURBO all the way back... and im using a test pipe as well, so i feel that removing the test pipe and leaving the downpipe open wont cause me to go THAT lean.

Also , in hot weather... usuallyu around 80 degrees and high humidity, i notice my idle is a little choppy. I think that it runs richer in high temp, high humidity weather because of the decreased atmospheric pressure, higher temp, which leads to essentially less oxygen in the combustion chamber and therefor makes me run a little bit rich at idle.. Can i use the SAFC to lean out at idle and help me idle better in these hot conditions?

any help appreciated.. TIA!

I would think you could use the afc for trimming fuel without negative effects on timing and whatnot.

I am also going to be doing the same thing but with uberdata.

****, sorry i should have read it before i posted instead of skimming. it will work, but the afc adds a lil timming so thats not good. personally i'd just get a couple more chips, and put different tunes on them, one for normal conditions, one for open dp

does open down-pipe make that much of a difference?

I hope you have a WB to keep your afr in check when you adjust your afc...

thanks for the feedback but still not the answers im looking for.. all i wanna know is if the AFC can be used along side a hondata tuned and equipped vehical without throwing anything off... when i Enrichen or lean the mixture on the AFC, it does it from where my hondata is tuned, yes or no? will this throw my timing off? I know the AFC hack does, but thats because you lean out like 40% right off the bat on the AFC, but in this case im starting from 0 , because thats where i think that it will be working from...where the tune is set.. at least thats what i think and i need to know this for sure.

Can someone please explain b/c I thought that a tuned hondata

eliminates all those hacks and piggybacks? Why would you really need an

AFC is you got hondata?

you cant use the AFC to enrichen your mixture, cause your hondata is already tuned for the bigger injectors,, all you can do is lean out your mixture since you can just go in the negatives with the afc -1 = less fuel -40 = less fuel, and so on, get it??

AFC has to be used with a stock honda ECU that thinks it runs on 240cc injectors but in fact it is running on 450cc or whatever size you want, it only tricks the MAP signal to reduce the voltage that go to the ECU, hence dumping less fuel.

hope this helps.
