Default Hondata vs AFC Hack

Just curious, will Hondata save you money in the end, because most likely you will end up upgrading? Or should I just try out this AFC Hack?

Also with Hondata, what else does one need as far as engine management? Fuel pump..?

you would want bigger injectors a fuelpump and a fuel pressure regulator. You can get some dsm's for cheap like 60 maybe a little more and also note this in your mind I would rather run rich than lean ask n e one on this site. Also there should be no comparison between that stupid ****** hack and hondata. The hack has worked out for people too Im not knocking it but for the prices I saw it for and the price of hondata, I picked hondata.. good luck

correct me if Im wrong n e body

I would stay away from anything with the word HACK in the name.

Go with the Hondata and have peace of mind.

In all honesty, the hack works, but Hondata is better. Why run 50-cent gear when you can afford a dollar, you know? i wish i went with something other than the hack, but that's just me. . . .

I agree. Hondata will be good for now AND later. Besides you can't adjust your ignition tables with a VAFC.

The only thing is that hondata doesn't have is anything for OBDII (corect me i'm wrong please!). Thus switching over to OBDI then adding hondata can add up alot more than an AFC.

If you have the parts..the afc hack works and is cheap (if you have the parts). But i wouldnt waste $300 on a afc when you could spend a little bit more and get a hondata. Hondata is worlds better then the afc hack.

Checkout the uberchip! $200 hondata.

i highly doubt alot of people that run daily even has a hondata...i know alot of people on here have hondata but in san francisco many of the street/strip guys just has fmu, injectors, and inline pump and dont even know what afc hack is lol...the typical price for honda data with boost and install is around 800 bucks last time i went on their web site...this isnt including tuning which can cost up to 100 bucks and hour on a dyno...and at this point ur going to be in 1G+ and u still wont be able to do ur own burning of chips unless u get the burner and software and datalogger....the list goes on....anyone with hondata can put down the price of install and say 1 or 2 hours of dyno time this is with boost option....is it anywhere near 1G???...im not trying to knock hondata...i will eventually go hondata but at this point running 12's with afc hack should do for now for me....

Happy to meet me? I'm happy to meet you... I've come to the same conclusion. Even if it's a BTM that doesn't address the issue, AFC hackers usually don't think about ignition retard.

I use the MSD Vari-Curve controller.
Pulls out a 4º slope from 3000 - 6200 and holds it till redline.

Not a BTM, but close enough.

Actually most people that run Hondata use ing their Daily drivers, which is what makes it so popular.

and timing is very important and one of the most commonly overlooked things. After you get all the hacks and buy something to take care of timing, you have spent as much as the Hondata. I've been in this boat with the JR bandaids, fmu and hacks and could never get the power down that I can with the Hondata.

the hack works and is very smooth and responsive, the only thing i hate is idle sometimes and when you let off the throttle it goes to 250rpm and bounces back to 800 again to keep it idling, sometimes it dies, fuel pressure is normal again with the hack, i like the hack cause if i get a hondata, i can still use the VAFC for MONITORING

But Hondata is a Honda ECU HACK. As Spunkster pointed out, you shouldn't use anything having to do with a low-quality HACK.

Someone mention the AEM EMS, please.

Very interesting, but in my case nobody is selling Hondata in Europe, but the worst thing is that nobody, could tune it...
Just imagine that I must found a dyno, the dyno must provide hp & torque graph (never see one) and AFR.
Below that I still need a guy to fine tune the car on the dyno and the hondata himself.
All these thing doesn't exist in here, it's another world you see.
So I have to go with the VAFC hack and a MSD BTR. It's the safe way out of hondata.

Really ??? That sound good.
I just sold my ZC CRX but I'll need your tuner for a friend of mine with a SOHC coupe, soon turbo'ed... and my futur hatch eg boosted too !
Hondata cost a lot but I think he will prefer going that way...

Otherwise, me and some friends are planning to go to UK for trackdays.
