I actually think his comp test should come up clean. He only sprays white clouds when in boost. Mine used to do this and my comp tested clean, but I was still mixing oil and coolant. I still had a hiarline crack in the sleeve and a leaky headgasket. The minor imperfections did not show up from just cranking the motor, I had to be pushing the engine hard. I dont know if thats the case here.

Check for milky crap under oil cap or cloudy oil.
do a leakdown test.

couldn't it be just because he's running rich?

no, running rich would be black smoke

I had the same problem when I was running stock sleeves, about a month or so later the #3 sleeve let go, looked like I was a top fuel car doing a burnout for 3 minutes (now thats smoke)

but i fave a 3 layer metal head gasket. and my car runs great . there is no coolant in the oil,nor are the cylinders getting washed out by fuel. I use to get a puff of white smoke out of my BOV, but i don't anymore

headgasket doesn't matter, they all can blow. There may have been oil on the headgasket which created a passage and that maybe the leak and will cause the white smoke. All it needs is a tiny leak.

Also, have you looked at the tuning maybe you are running lean up top and thats why it only happens after hard runs.

well if there are no signs of blown headgasket or cracked sleeves, the only other thing it could be is your turbo. The seals are going out. Check charge piping for traces of oil and check for excessive shaft play.

i have no play in the shaft and there is no oil in the charge pipe i checked those last nite. with the headgasket if it was leaking wouldn't there be little bubbles coming out of my coolant when i take the cap off ??

yep there would be bubbles, but like i said before, you might not have enough pressure to let the gases escape the small leak in the gasket when idle.

Just do a leakdown tes.

Yes an engine will blow white smoke when running rich... If I set my fp a little to high, it will start smoking white.

What kind of fp are you running...?

so if an engine has a normal compression reading. there are no signs of leaky headgasket...

what could cause white smoke from the exhaust?

i still have the same problem. when i drive normal... i get white smoke during low rpms or when i come to a stop in neutral... i rarely get white smoke blowing out during idle. just the other day, i raced a turbo eclipse... and i had thin white smoke blowing out of my exhaust during idle. **** is starting to confuse me.

i need to do a leakdown test.

you can have good compression numbers and still have a LEAKING headgasket, not blown but just a tiny leak, use the leakdown tester, although easiest thing imo would be to replace the headgasket, shouldn't take more than a day...and use copper spray on it that way you can be SURE its not the headgasket.

Also, while the head is off check the sleeves for any cracks, knicks, etc.

true. i gotta get the leakdown test done. from there.. its either replace whatever is damaged... or just sell the turbo kit and go back to stock for now.

If you go back to stock, it wont be for long. I lasted 2 days stock after my turbo. You blew your headgasket?

yeah... the way white smoke comes out of my exhaust... im sure thats at least one of the problems. i might have a small leak. probably got worse when i raced some punk in a turbo eclipse last night. boost is addicting. ill probably go crazy drivin a stock car.. and thats why i added "for now" when i said i might go back to stock. hehe
