Anyone use these yet?

boosted hybrid

Its a mac valve, and looks identical to what AEM sells. We use AEM boost solenoids all the time with hondata boost control, works much better than the gm solenoids.

if it is the same as the AEM ones, which im sure it is, they work great.


i dont like using the GM solenoids. they just seem ghetto, you can only use ghetto hose, and its a normally open solenoid so if anything goes wrong, the boost will skyrocket.

i remember trying to buy that valve from an industrial distributor here locally, and they wouldn't let me buy it for LIABILITY REASONS because I was an individual and not a business, and because I was using it on my car..

BUT yet you can easily buy a GUN and shoot up a school..

Everything you see in the aftermarket at a two and a half to four times markup is going to be a rebadged MAC, Delco, or Humphrey unit.

I won't list STC as they are chinese as hell and I've been able to get zero feedback on build quality and reliability from idustrial sources, but they have the higher temp rated F-class coil at Humphrey prices. Also, I haven't seen them offered in the aftermarket... but now that I have mentioned them I am sure that I will shortly.

I read on some RX7 forum that there was a place that sells them online for $22, but I couldn't find the damn link.

Sad the way some forums are run. Anyway, like I posted in the other solenoid thread currently on the top page of the FI forum, solenoid failure can be caused by incorrect cycling frequency aka operator error. However, as I stated SCT are chinese as hell and a one in four failure out of the box isn't promising - you get a better success rate with SSAC T3/T04E failure turbos.
