ive been having ignition control module issues. keeps burnin out. shop said its ecu. i took it apart and see a wire jumping j1, r54, and c52.

original thread - https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/ignitors-keep-going-out-after-tuned-2645231/

looked at hondata.com socketing info, doesnt say anything about jumping those together.

No, it's not supposed to be there. Without that wire jumping those items it'd be done correctly.

Ya. All those aren't supposed to be jumped together.

That's weird. Who did you get it from?

That ecu work looks horrible. Replace the ecu.

i originally bought the ecu from a local shop here(import sports) paid for the ecu, s300, and 100 dollar labor install. it worked fine for a year. went and got my car tuned last week, car died after it was done. (this was a different shop i tuned it at) off the bat they said ecu causing ignitor to go out . I guess import sports have bad reputation of chipping ecu. they took it apart in front of me and i saw a piece of copper wire haning there where that white one is., so i guess they solder i new one on(that white one) but i think he kinda guess where it went and just solder it????????

from doing research why is the freakin wire there anyways!!!!!!!!????? no where in the hondata guide tell you to do that. WTF!

The wire shouldn't be there. If it worked fine before, it's possible they switched the ECU on you (Sorry to say, because I have no idea what really happened). It wouldn't run properly if that wire was there the whole time.
