Default Hondata Romeditor v4 for s100/s200 is now out.

Figured I would make a post to inform you guys using s100/s200 systems.
Hondata has released a new romeditor for the s100/s200 systems.

Comparison of the systems:
http://hondata.com/romeditor4comparisonmatrix.html

The only major feature I like is the 2d table editing.
I do not know why hondata's romeditor v3 did not have this.
Other little features such as multiple fuel/timing maps are cool too :-)

Happy tuning

Saw this at SEMA. Certainly a step in the right direction.

Good find. As a an S200 customer with RomEditor V3 who is probably going to upgrade to the S300 I say this:

- "Integrated datalogging application (replaces HondaLogger and RomEditor 3)"
Ouuu niffy V3 datalogs too with, oh noes...one more cable. Don't be that lazy
- "Includes custom USB to serial cable. No configuration needed."
Ouuu niffy Custom? Oh boy! Go buy a Keyspan adpater from BestBuy for like $40. It works. Done.
- "Directly supports the Transtronics and Ostrich emulators."
Ouuu niffy Sooo that seems like a waste of time and energy on their part. The only real upgrade is that it supports the Ostrich romulator as well now.
- "Dual nitrous/generic outputs."
Ouuu niffy Since the V3 doesn't do that (sarcasism)

This system has very little use for existing V3 owners, and for $195 you can beat you *** there no way in hell I'm upgrading for those piddly little so-called upgrades. Yea, cool beans for people who don't have any RomEditor versions, but this just seems like a waste of time on Hondata's part. Seriously though people could choose either the V3 for S200 which works or just buy the S300. No need to a new software version for outdated hardware. I dunno, maybe it's just been too long of a day....

v3 worked with the ostrich :-p

The new software is appears to be marketed more towards the tuners/dealers & the idea that users are still going to buy s100 units on a budget. (My opinion).

Nevermind then, boo for the ostrich part haha. I suppose that's a decent reason for this new version. Oh well "**** it" I'm just going to pack my bags and get ready to go to NY for skiing tomorrow. No cars...well not as much , much needed stress relief, and snow bunny eye candy.....peace until Saturday afternoon H-T.com.

Unless I'm reading things wrong, that pricing is pretty offensive.

But thats old hat to Hondata, this coming from a one time 4b owner

IMO, I think it is more targeted for tuners and those who already have the peripherals for the S200.

If you are a first time buyer(and plans to tune only one car) then S300 is the way to go.

if you are not a Hondata dealer and you offer services like tuning crome, uberdata and other software for hondas then buying the Romeditor 4 should be worthwhile since you would earn by offering tuning services. $195 is cheap if you have the potential of earning at least $50 an hour street tuning.

That's just me.

I don't think v3 users which paid for the software should have to pay $200 to upgrade to v4 software. I feel that new users should pay the $200, but v3 users should only have to pay an upgrade fee.

Oh well

my guess is you have to have the cable, which works as the unlock when tuning.

Hondata added the upgrade feature recently. The upgrade price was not online until after I made this post

Glad to see they gave people a deal to upgrade.

I like the new software.

If you don't want to pay for the unit then don't cry about it. I've never seen so many cheap people in my life before.

Not taking credit, just glad to see hondata changed the structure for people that already paid for the v3.
