Hondata questions......
We tuned my roomates car this weekend and I have a couple hondata questions. This was our first hondata/dyno tune and I have to say it was really easy!
First thing, Do honda's idle in open loop??
Second thing, When dyno tuning a honda, should I let the car run for a minuite until the ecu switches from the startup map before making a run? They seem to run really rich for around 30 seconds after you start them up.
We made 194.2hp and 157lb/ft at 8psi running a safe 12:1 in boost and total timing of 22deg under full boost. The power curve looked good and the a/f was bang on.
D16Y8, T3 .42 / .48, hondata 2b, ssq, small spearco type ic, 440 rc's.
This was actually a retune. The map we pulled off the chip was tuned my someone else in town. We pulled it after he melted a piston only to discover that he was running 29 degrees advance under full boost and he was hitting 14.5:1 after the vtec change over. (after half a baseline run)

Re: Hondata questions...... (legendboy)
startup fuel map? there isnt any map thats specific to start up available on hondata (at least on the version i have) are you talking about cranking fuel adjustment? i left that and throttle tip adjustment as defaults which is the same as injector multiplier. ive also noticed that about within 30 secords after startup, my map area around idle shows up leaner when what i have previously tuned to (14.7) but once i bring the revs up and start driving a bit, it goes back to about 14.7ish
