Re: Hondata injector question... (fullracegsr)
i am finishing off my gsr turbo project and i am using hondata. Guy at the shop gave me a basemap for my same setup except with 440cc's and i will be running 550cc's he said it will be driveable but he needs to tune it with the 550's. so my best answer to your question is no it wont recalibrate itself. but if i were you i would call your local hondata tuner, he would know for sure.

those are "base maps" not intended at all to me used to run the car. you must aLWAYS totally re-tun the car when changing anything major like injector sizes. the Basemaps are only designed to allow you to gett eh car to the tuner shop so they can properly tune the sucker.

Re: Hondata injector question... (oscarmayer)
not the question....
program was tuned for exactly my setup on 72lb injectors...
friend went in and changed the injector size on the editor to 96lb injector...
does hondata recalibrate percentages of fuel added/removed to compesate for change in injector size... this is NOT a basemap!!

Re: Hondata injector question... (fullracegsr)
IMHO, if you apply a map recurve from 72lb to 96lb injectors, your 5" vacuum up to and including your boost columns will be very close to the same. As you taper into high vacuum columns it will get progressively leaner. This is my personal experience w/ going from a dead-on 450cc tune and scaling to a 86lb (deka's) tune. The first 3 vacuum columns needed the most work. Also of interest was the latency of the 86lb injectors was so great, that the first 3 vacuum columns needed some serious attention. I noticed that 450's usually only needed 2.2-2.3ish ms to idle, the 86lb Deka's needed almost the same due to the latency. (like 2.0-2.1 ms)
When doing base maps and recurving from stock 240's, I have the best luck recurving 450's at like 410's and 86lb-ers at around 675's
HTH

I think a lot of times the injector sizing assumes that injectors are EXACTLY the size you say, but in reality, most injectors are usually 5cc off or so which can throw off a tune

the answer to your question is no it wont do it perfectly. it will adjust mainly by percentage which is not going to be very accurate and will require pretty much a brand new tune. hope that helps
