Hondata CEL weird
I havent had my car tuned yet.. and i havent hit boost yet. Right now im driving a 98 integra b18b motor, with a p28 ECU chipped, and a hondata s200 with boost. Also i have 450cc injectors..Anyway, i put my basemap in yesterday and wanted to take the car out for a spin just to see how its running. car started right up and idled perfectly!..but i had a CEL, not sure what code cuz i dont have anyway to check.. Drove the car around and put maybe like 30-40 miles on it and of coarse i kept her under boost.. Car runs GREAT , no bogging , no nothing yet im getting a cel.. im thinking maybe it has something to do with the ECU trying to pick up a knock sensor which my car does not have.. what do you guys think>?

You don't have a short piece of wire?
Jump the connector, turn the key to On, watch the blinking lights. Also, you can disable the knock sensor using Hondata.
BTW, don't tell me you're using DSM 450's?

Is the map set to disable vtec pressure and solenoid? I very much think that's ur problem, since ur running b18b motor with p28 ecu.

Funny, considering I've seen p28's throw a code for the knock sensor.
Do you know if you have the knock sensor enabled?

I'm not familiar with Hondata, but is there a feature to enable/disable VTEC? Just a thought.
By the way, I think I saw you at 711 in East Meadow a few nights ago with a GTI and another car.

yes you can disable it. dont worry when you get done w/ tuning, you wont have any CEL's

Maybe he has VTEC enabled, and that's why it's throwing the code. He won't have any CELs after tuning assuming he has a decent tuner

well i cant wait to get it tuned.. driving it around is such a tease.. ill gas it right up to 0psi and listen to the turbo spool, then back off the throttle and hear the beautiful tial BOV go off..
btw its getting tuned at DRT racing in Queens NY on tuesday afternoon .. They have an inhouse dyno so fortunately it wont cost a fortune..
