Default Hondata boost by gear options

Just installed a boost by gear setup. Can different/multiple maps or boost selections be set up so that I can switch from one to the other? Can it be switched to just run off the wastegate spring as a low boost option?

You can make it run off of just the WG, by setting the duty cycle to open the solenoid all the way, you can also set up a high and low boost option. To switch from one to the other on the boost by gear, you have to change it each time, as far as i know

Boost by gear is a great system. Im running it in my daily driver with s300. You first have to get teh components installed into the ecu so you have pwm control. then you wire up a solinoid ( i highly recomend a mac) then you have to do fixed duty cycle and find out how much % equals how much boost and input that into the fields below where your putting in fix duty cycle. that tells the ecu that at x duty cycle its y boost pressure. IE: 35% = 14 psi 45% = 18 psi 55% = 26 psi then when you do the boost by gear the ecu knows what duty cycle to put the solinoid for a given boost pressure yoru looking for and it will get it pretty close to what your trying to achieve. I currently have mine set for 12 psi in 3-4 gear and it gives me 12.3 psi

I have boost by gear setup with a Mac solenoid and I also installed a high/low boost switch to allow me to switch my boost levels with a touch of a button without having to reload a map. This is on an RSX with kpro, not sure what options they offer with S300 though. I love it, works great.

I wonder if that same thing can be done, using the cruise control switch instead of adding a switch..

It should be able to be done with a factory switch, you might have to wire the ecu to the switch and it also depends if the ecu is looking for a ground activation or a power activation

if its looking for a ground activation you can rewire the cruise switch to a relay that when the relay is activated it supplys a ground instead of a power.

Yes it can. But the problem to me was the only way it worked was when you had the cruise button engaged the high boost tune was on and when you had the cruise button turned off the low boost tune was on. Kinda seemed *** backwards to me, lol. I thought that a switch would be easy.

so to use this setting your starting wastegate spring will be the lowest boost sitting you will be starting with?? or can a you run 5lb using a 12lb spring? what about putting in a 5lb spring, can you run more than double the amoung with this boost solenoid?? would like know before i put in and run this boost sitting.

How much above wastegate spring pressure varies with different exhaust manifolds, wastegates and wastegate pipe routing. 2 - 2 1/2 times wastegate spring pressure seems to be typical but some setups have handled 3 times and more.
