If you were going to run 7lbs of boost all the time, the Eagles will work just fine. However, I have a feeling you will eventually run more. Boost is addicting and we all want more. Spend the extra money and buy the crowers. Don't take the risk of stretching or snapping a rod bolt. You will end up paying much more in the long run if something goes wrong. Saving $300-400 is not worth it.

are you planning on new pistons too?
if yes, then eagles are fine, i think they come standard with the arp bolts now.
if no, then keep stock one until they go, then rebuild.
just make sure you have good tuning.

u can run 10psi on stock rods. why won;t eagles handle more? my plan, Je pistons, and eagle rods. with darton sleeves in a d16z6 runing 14-20psi daily. why do people hate eagle so much? i think this setup would be better than turbopanda's b16arods with toyota pistons. atleast their forged. and he was running 18psi daily. WTF is wronge with eagle's?

JJ Olson and Angela Proudfoot both sat out the last few rounds at Englishtown a few weeks ago because there were eagle rods sticking out of the side of their motors...

Usually poor tuning and overconfidence is the cause of rod destruction. Of course you should use a stronger rod for forced induction due to the increased cylinder pressures, but detonation can destroy any rod. Tuning is the key.

For 7psi your stock internals will last a long, long time if you proper tuning.
Here we go again on the old hating against Eagle rod bandwagon.

Ohh gosh here we go again. Almost every company has a rod failure, **** happens. But there are a lot of people that still have great success with both brands of rods. For 500whp Eagles are fine. If you wanna get into the 575-650+HP range then get some Full-Race rods. I run Eagles in my motor 10.5psi, 390+whp, 9500rev limit, no problems. Going to turn up the boost, it's all about tuning man.

Re: Honda Connecting Rods Crower or Eagle? (Tofurky)
Eagles @8psi daily
at 14psi I would be above the 350whp mark which is very unstreetable where I live....I usually run between 6psi-11psi at close to 300whp and the eagles are doing very well...(knock wood)
While we are on the topic, I bought my Eagles from Larry at Endyn. Does anyone know if he does anying special to the rods?

they offer upraded bolts for eagle rods.. - i guess thats one failure with these rods, so you can torque them to 46 instead of 23
any of chaper ones are made across the seas - the reason for lower pricing, but doesn't mean its lower quality.
thers also ef-1, probe rods in same price range

eagles will be more thna fine for anyones needs here, just people dont pay attention to the specs when they put thme together and /or not tuned right and they have probs.
its all preference. peopl bash on eagles becuase they see someone that broke them here an there. . . **** breaks, dont matter if its eagle or crowers, or pauters, they break for the same reasons .
