Honda civic 300hp turbo build what do I need??
Hey guys been looking into install a turbo on my 1992 civic si with a d16z6. I recently bought a used Garret t3 .48/.60ar turbo. Is this turbo big enough to supply 300hp? Is so what kind of wastegate psi should I run? maybe 12psi?
Now I know that the stock engine will not handle 300hp, and I am prepared to mildly build my engine. I could just use a little advice as to what parts in the block that i need to upgrade. Also If i need to do any head work.
Here is what I know I will need
-Bigger fuel pump
-Bigger injectors
-Dishes forged pistons
-forged rods
-Upgrades pistons seals??
-Headstuds
-maybe upgrades driveshaft?
-Upgraded clutch (Do I need a new flywheel or any other transmission work?)
-Upgraded map sensor (what else would i need for the tune side of things?)
-Along the with all the turbo stuff to supply 300hp. Turbo, wastegate downpipe, charge piping, intercooler, blow of valve etc....
If you guys could help me out in this I would really appreciate it.
This is my first time building or turboing an engine and I'm trying to do it properly and slowly.

Before you get ahead of yourself, read the FAQ https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced-induction-16/%2A%2A%2Aforced-induction-forum-faq%2A%2A%2A-1024174/
The questions you're asking could easily be answered through a little research.
A stock D series will make 220-240whp in stock form...more than that requires building it (rods are the weakpoint).
The turbo you have will not make 300whp but is a good turbo for a stock block D.

Re: Honda civic 300hp turbo build what do I need??
Eagle rods with ARP fasteners
Cp or vitara pistons (9:1 ratio should work)
Stock head gasket with arp headstuds
Acl race bearing set
Upgraded clutch
450cc injectors
15psi+ on your turbo guesstimate. A bit bigger turbo would be easier especially with the reduction in heat it would yield.

Aside from what has been mentioned, there is a SOHC thread around here where lots of people post their set ups. Find someone pushing similar power for an idea.
