holset hx35 on a d series
well right now i have a boosted dohc zc with a small .42/.48 turbo setup pushing out 207 whp on 8.5 psi on a stock block. i have received a free holset hx35 turbo off of what i think is a dodge 2500(in perfect condition). this summer i am going to be buying some low comp pistons with some bigger better rods as well. has anybody experienced one of these turbos on either a sohc dohc zc engine? should i plan on getting the block sleeved? where would it start to spool and hit full boost? what is the exhaust flange on it cause i dont think it will work with my current log manifold will it?
help me out as i am still learning about this kind of stuff

If you got it for free, roll with it. It's kinda big for the application, but gives you some room to grow. Or if you want to sell it, pm me.

Its gonna be laggy on a D16 and you would be better off with a HY35 with the 9cm housing or maybe a HX30 but i dont know much of anything about the HX30's.The stock wastegate is between 17-23psi depending on year.It really depends if you mind having some lag or you want a good street setup etc.

Click the word 'Print' above the topic, the use ctrl-f to search for 'sohc', that should make it easier to find stuff about sohc's in that holset thread. TBH, if you're makign 207whp @8.5psi on a d16, you definately have a good motor/exhaust, so it won't be all that bad with the bigger turbo. I would just recommend selling it, installing a 2.5bar MAP, and retuning it at 15-18psi.
