Default Holset H1B ON B16A

Will this turbo be too small for my b16a motor?
H1B Holset turbo, I am looking for about 400whp.

Motor is Forged with SRP Slugs
And R Cams

These are the codes on the plate of turbo

sn 739409
engine 127-0337
h1b
assy 3520851

The best thing would be to measure the compressor wheel and Turbine wheel

For a 400whp goal on a B16 I'd say you would have to look at a H1C/Wh1C/HY35/HX35, the HX30 in theory should be able to support the HP goals with quick spool , but it hasn't been tested like the more common variants mentioned above !!


The H1C is an older, smaller version of the HX35 (with many variations) !

A H1B (following Holset naming) will probably be an older version of the HX30 or even smaller with a large exhaust housing.

I think it will be too small for your 400whp goal

Go for an HY35 if you can find one - it will be the best balance between quick spool and good flow !
