HKS SSQV and c-clamp problems?
I heard about the HKS having leaks around the c clamp. I went ahead and asked a buddy of mine about it and he said there was no clamp that he was aware of. I was told by him that it simply bolted to the flange. If there is a c-clamp, where is it? Maybe a diagram or picture would help? I'd like to know if this problem has been fixed or not. I have narrowed my new BOV search to an HKS or a Blitz, but I heard the Blitz was prone to sticking.
that damn c clamp
One of the hardest parts of a turbo install
Anyway, i dont see how in the hell a c clamp on the hks can leak, especially with that fat o ring. The way the HKS works there should be no way anything can leak.
On the other hand, I heard of blitz leaking all the time.
The c clamp looks like a "c"
Its how it is mounted on the flange. Kinda hard to explain. Look at the HKS website and maybe they have a picture of it. There are no bolts on it.

Same problem here. We had some cheap *** Snap Ring pliers that bent. My brother to it to the machine shop where he use to work and bam, they had the damn thing on in a matter of seconds.
I have had both the Type S and now the HKS, I like the HKS better. My Greddy leaked and tightening it didn't seem to help so I ditched it when I sold the old greddy setup.

Racerage1: its the c-clamp that leaks, not the BOV itself. Maybe I could just have it welded up if i decide to get one.
edit: ok i guess ill be getting an hks and I'll use JB weld. no way that ****** will leak.
