Default HKS BOV problem

I picked up a universal HKS SS BOV and flange. Well, my buddy installed it, and the BOV came off at the track. I need this thing fixed ASAP, do you know if i can just have the BOV welded to a steel flange and bypass the c-clip?

Sure, if the metals are the same/similar enough.

Just be careful, a friend of mine welded his bov directly to the charge pipe and the heat seized up the piston in the valve.
