hks ebc- pressure is higher than the setting
i'm running an electronic boost controller, which is an old hks evc. i have the boost set to about 8 psi. when i revved it up the boost climbed up to 10 psi and looked like it was still climbing, but i let off the gas because i don't want it to go too high untuned. right now i'm running a basemap, which is set for 8. i have an 6.5 psi spring in the wastegate. is it possible for the ebc to just crap out and max out the pressure? i know the ebc can raise the pressure up to double what the spring is set for.
i tried driving the car with the ebc turned off, and the pressure was still flying up. my next step is to disconnect the ebc and run the wg off the turbo vaccum but the roads are too icy right now and the tires just start spining around 4-5 psi.
anybody had a problem similar to this?
