Default High oil temps?

What oil temps do you guys normally see?

I have recently been seeing oil temps around 230-240 when crusing at about 70-85mph.....about 4k on my gsr tranny....

I have a b16a, does not have a factory oil cooler on it....maybe thats the problem?

What would cause high oil temps? My return sucks, but that shouldn't matter, should it?

Umm...
Neukin manifold
gt32e
open downpipe
b16a
p30 pistons
gsr head

I'm using an autometer gauge with the sender tapped really low in the pan, on the back side....

I was seeing these temps with my dirty *** mobil 1 5w30 and i just changed to mobil 1 15w50 and i still see these temps.....

My oil temps ran 245-255F with hard driving and 230-240 cruising on the highway with an OEM GSR oil cooler/ 5 quart moroso oilpan / fluidyne radiator.

After I installed the permacool oil cooler my oil temps dropped to 210-220F . I lost 4-5 psi WOT oil pressure but just gained it back by plugging my oil squirters.

The higher viscosity oil will not help keep your oil temps down but will just not burn off as quick and will maintain a higher oil pressure.

I just ordered a Greddy Oil Cooler, but prior to that after hard pulls I would see around 230-239. Just cruising I would be somewhere bxn 176- 212.

My setup was a 2.0l 8.8.1 compression T3/60-1 Full Race setup layin down 445whp and 320 tq @ 16psi... with the factory ITR oil cooler which is not removed.

its normal for a high boosted honda.... run the 15-50 full synthetic and change your oil more often or

get an oil cooler , run 10-30 , and either plug your oil squirters or shim your oil pump.
