I would be interested to know what power levels people are running in each gear to gain traction in comparison to their tire/tire pressure and drivetrain setups for example:

Tires-Toyo R888 205/50/15
Trans-GSR
LSD- Yes
Traction Bar-Yes
Suspension- Coilovers at 10kg front 10kg rear
1st Gear-320hp
Psi Level 10psi at 9000k
2nd Gear-320hp
Psi Level-10psi at 9000k
3rd Gear- 420hp
Psi Level- 15psi and 9000k
4th Gear- 500whp
Psi Level- 20 psi and 9000k
5th Gear- 87 MPG highway and 12 MPG city

Yeah I figured.

I think you might be more interested in torque in each gear tho. Since HP is very RPM dependent, but torque stays nearly constant at each boost level. Torque would be your better measurement in this case.

i hear getting an electronic boost controller and lag will be better if you are trying to get maximum traction. i am going to try this route this spring.

I'm using boost by gear through my apexi avcr and it works very well. Still get some spin in first, but it is what it is. I boost 10 psi in 1st (can't go lower, wg spring pressure) 11 psi 2nd and 14 3-5. I also run drag radials full time which also helps a lot. I haven't tried it on regular street tires though. I'm thinking I'd have to change my spring and going down to 7-8 psi in first, 9- 10 in second. All around though, I'm glad I have it. Makes it a lot more controllable. Only downside for me is the avcr can sometimes be a pain to program. I'd like to try an s300 at some point, but my 200 is working just fine, lol.

Tires: 225-50-15 Hoosier drag radials
Gsr trans with quaffe LSD
Traction bar: no

Quick question. I'm looking to add the boost by gear solenoid to my S300 when I go for my retune, but I'm confused on the WG spring. I know that you should get one for the lowest PSI you will boost, but my tuner is recommending a smaller one than what I have and I'm wondering if it'll limit me on the top end.

I have the 0.6 bar 8.7psi small blue spring currently, and my tuner suggested I get the 0.4 bar 5.8psi small red spring. My concern is the top end psi like I mentioned, and if you can only go 2-3x the amount of your spring I'm looking at 17.4psi-26.1psi on the current spring and 11.6psi-17.4psi on the smaller spring.

What do you guys think? I'm running a T3/T04E 50 trim stage 3 wheel 63 A/R Garrett turbo and looking for low 400whp, so I'm guessing I'll have to push at least 25+psi to get that. I'm at 328whp right now at 15psi.

I'd keep the spring you have. Do you ever plan to boost LESS than 0.6-bar?

I don't plan to, but I'm thinking the tuner is asking me to get the smaller one because he's looking to give me the lower amount of boost in lower gears to reduce spinning.

I've tried a small 6-7 psi spring and did not like the results. My target pressure is about 17psi. It would hit 17 psi, but after a shift and getting back into it....It would take some time to ramp back up to 17psi.

Put a 10 or 11 pound spring in there and the boost response was much better. This is with an avc-r, which I also use to control boost by gear and boost ramp rate. I do not like having to get the laptop out and setup just to change my pressures around.

Rooftop - how is the longevity with running the DRs full time? And how much do they suck on corners?

x2 i know every setup is different and they are many varibles contributing to gaining traction on the street, but its still interesting to see peoples settings in relation to power/torque output

I have it as well and definatly works well (although i still need better tires) it def makes the turbo lag slightly which is benefical for traction. With my MBC it woudl hit so hard it spins everytime. WIth the boost by gear i still loose traction sometime when nitrous engages but thats a big torque hit so it makes sense there, plus there is no correction for nitrous use. 15psi without no2 is 21 psi with it. it just spikes alot more when using it I also have a auxilary switch wired up so that i have two boost by gear maps. a strictly low boost setting and then a high boost map. that can be switched anytime on the fly by using the switch....Boost by gear is def the way to go.

Can the s300 do both BBG and BBRPM? and why would you run one vs. the other? seems like BBRPM would be a lot more accurate? or can you run both and limit the boost in each gear by rpm?

The way the map works is you do by Both RPM and Gear....Its not one or the other. Its a combination of both. So per every 1000 rpms you can adjust boost settings for every gear.
