I have a GSR with p30 pistons Cspeed says my compression is 11.5. when i do a compression test each cylinder is about 220. everything else on the engine is stock. do you think this can be turbo'd??

as long as you choice the right management system and up the injectors and get good tuning you will have no problems
Likke my man said tune the **** out of it and you will be straight ............... tuning is everthing
its a T3 .42 .48 turbo, 5inch JRC intercooler, 2.5 inch pipeing, spoolin log manifold, spoolin downpipe, electronic cut out, hondata s200 with Boost upgrade, DSM 440 injectors, greddy type s bov, tial 38mm wastegate. i only wanna make like 230hp also the head has ctr cams and skunk2 cam gears.

it can be done, but your pushing it.
needs awesome tune, good gas....one tank of bad gas could be bad for you.
id get a thicker hg at the least

cometic seems to be pretty popular. ive never used anything besides oem though, so i dont have personal experience with it. you may want to do a search and see what kind of info you can find out about them.

I will try to get bigger injectors also if you can't get 93 octane fuel try to use octane booster, I will recommend you a boost controller and try not to run the car every day at full blast remember the car already is generating heat because of high compression, I have the same problem as you because when they put the sleeves in the block they cut too much out of the deck of the block, I got a cosmetic 60mm head gasket to bring the compression down before my car was at 230 across the board with a 30mm, but not every gauge you use will give you the same results after we put the head gasket in the compression is at 170, I'm calculating 10.5 or under but not less the 9.8 still really high, if you want the car to be reliable and to last get a good tuner and try to have a different amount of boost for a every day driving.

tony the tiger on here has a gsr with 11:5:1 and 13 psi on aem
okay i only wanna boost like 4 or 5 everday and not anymore ever. i dont wanna change the headgasket but if i have to i will.

Management and a good tune... Don't worry about changing over the hg to lower cr.
Honda-Tech Member
ive heard from some people that hg is the wrong way to lower cr

I wouldn't say the wrong way. There's enough cars our there running thicker HG's to drop compression to prove it a viable alternative to swapping out slugs. I'm surte he'll be okay with less than 6 PSI pump gas if he gets a good tune and keeps an eye on things. Water injection and methanol might be worth looking into if he wants to be really cautious.

91 octane sucks, its daily driven, even with a good tune there are things that exist such as climate changes. This guy obviously doesnt know that much about tuning, whether his first tune is good or not, not knowing everything that effects your car will certainly lead to it blowing up.
race car, good fuel, with experienced owner---hell yeah
daily driver, 91 octane, inexperienced owner....id get a thicker head gasket
better yet, find out whos gonna be tuning your car and do what he tells you

i want a really conservative(sp?) tune. i might get a headgaskt .058 to lower it to 10.8:1.

I've got a pretty conservative tune in mine ( B18c1,11.5:1 Je's, to4e, .80/.70 on 8 psi). I run it only on 93 octane (daily driver). No signs of detonation
. It trapped over 115 on it's first pass out
. Be careful and be smart and you want have any problems.

You said the turbo is a .42/.48 T3 - If so, you're pretty much wasting your time. That turbo is way too small for a High Comp GSR - you'll be blowing hot air out of the turbo which would increase the chance of detonation...

A small turbo like that at 4-5 psi will not have sufficient air flow for a GSR at 8000rpm.
for 4-5psi the wastegate will be open all the time...

this came off my friends turbo gsr but his was stock and it made 220 with 10psi. i wouldnt have to boost 10 to make the same power do i??? im getting this setup really cheap and i just wanna try it out. i might upgrade turbo later on but for now will this turbo do anything for me?
