It baffles me that u guys are speaking of PSI levels but have yet determined what turbo u will be using. If u havent figured it out yet, PSI means nothing w/o the turbo size.

Thats a given, he will probably use a common t3/t4 on the smaller side, just guessing since he mentioned low psi numbers and its gonna be a street car..

That really doesn't have much to do with it though, considering he would use the same turbo on each setup..

Regardless of turbo size, a higher static compression will make more power at the same PSI. Key is to make the best power safely with higher compression based on octane and power levels. You simply do not need to drop down to 9.0:1 CR with 400WHP and premium gas (ie: 93 oct).

You gotta teach me how to build a correct setup so I can have a lag-less turbo Honda There will be lag regardless how good the setup is for a puny 2.0L 4-cyl engine reaching 300+ WHP. It's up to how the person feel about the lag. Knowing that machine4321 is coming from an all motor ITB setup, he's going to hate lag as much as I do.

Power-band is one thing, but people are really confused about RPM spool time, boost response and throttle response. These are three completely different things and you can't mix them up. Higher compression would benefit throttle response and power before boost hits. Turbo sizing would mostly dictate what type of RPM-range the power comes in. Changing the compression will not make the engine's powerband run at a lower RPM range or vice versa.

tony, out of curiosity, what is full boost on your setup (the 10.5:1 comp)? when do you hit full boost in say 3rd gear? and last, do you have a dyno? i have a friend who has a similar setup to yours (28rs, and 10.3:1 comp) that i would like to compare it to.

I have a t3 60 trim on my H23(its a from a nissan 300z single turbo), and it does pretty well, but maxes out at around 250-300 whp generally..

I have full boost at around 2700 rpms and it starts to spool around 2,200, in 3rd gear, and it pushes all the way up to 7,200 without dropping off, definitely gives a good torque curve as you can see..

(this dyno is only on 3.8 psi)

If I were you I would go ahead and go with the t3/t4 57 just for a bit more punch up top..

3rd gear, I would say the GT28RS made about 8-9 psi at 3500-3700RPM. I have dyno for a 8 PSI run, but I didn't scan it and put it in the computer. It made 286 WHP and 245 lb-ft but boost was dropping back to 6-7 psi after 7500RPM which was later solved.
