Default Hi-Temp Turbo Coating *Pics*

I'm so glad I did this. The coating resists heat up to 1600 Degrees F. Plus puts some bling under my hood

Is this coating designed to keep the heat inside the turbo? If so, i would have only gotten it on the turbine side, imo.

in the future, if you wet sand the pits out of the metal before the paint the bling will be more blingin. It wont look all bumpy. its not too late though you can sand off all that and recoat if you dont mind the work.

I was actually thinking that after I got the Turbo back. IMO it looks awsome, thats all that really matters. And I wont have to use any heat wrap or heat sheilds either.

If you mean like this...

I can do that type of preparation for the coating, though the process does take a bit longer. Jake1220 needed to have his turbo back within a certain period, and since we will not compromise quality for the coating, we thought it most expedient to get it back to him as soon as possible, so this step was skipped.

I would have also gotten the exhaust done and just polish the Intake side. Also that color will not last on the exhaust anyways...it will dull out to a gray shade.

When I had my Manifold done I optied for the Jet-hot 2000 coat which takes up to 2450 F degrees.

That baby was flat black but it looked so purrrrrrrttey even after I sold the car.

Well you don't want to trap heat into your intake air, although i'm sure the amount of heat dissapated by the compressor housing is minimal. Coating looks good though

...says the "Ex-HardParker". LOL

I think the reason people are saying you should have ONLY done the turbine side is b/c that coating holds heat in. So by coating the compressor housing, you're trapping more heat inside the housing. While normally (maybe) the heat would radiate off the comp housing reducing the air temp of the charged air. Now its just keeping all the heat inside.

Correct me if I am wrong...
