Help w/ Motorla 2.5 bar Map sensor
having problems on hooking up a motorola 2.5 bar map... I have signal to pin 1, ground to pin 2 and power to pin 3. Car runs like no map w/ uberdata (won't turn on) and won't rev w/ chrome (but idles fine). Checked with voltmeter and I have .4v w/ car @ 20in vac and .17v @ 0vac (engine off). I would think that there would be more voltage at 0vac then 20in vac. Any help appreciated...

you sure the sensor is an absolute pressure sensor? If it's not, it'll only read right with pressure over atmospheric. If it's guage pressure, then that's only 0 and up. Where did you get the sensor from?

hmm, i've never used those so I can't really help any more. Why not just go with a gm 3 bar map?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Connect Pin 1 (Vout) to the ‘Reference’ signal in your stock MAP sensor wiring.
Connect Pin 2 (GND) to the Ground wire in your stock MAP sensor wiring.
Connect Pin 3 (Vs) to the 5v signal wire in your stock MAP sensor wiring.
</TD></TR></TABLE>
Looks like you have it hooked up correctly...nothing else is hooked up? I notice in Crome when I did mine up it was noticeably leaner at first startup and needed to be tuned a little richer even with the same MAP scalars.
You sure you are using PIN 1 (with the notch in it) correctly?

You probably didn't use pin 1. If you look at it what appears to be the back side, pin one is on the left and has a notch in it. FWIW if you aren't planning on running more than 22 PSI, the Motorola 2.5 bar is the way to go!

Re: (nfn15037)
Yeah, it was pin one... I damn near have the manufacturer/data sheet memorized... it said pin one was the one with the notch. Really weird cus i talked to a lot of people and they all said theirs was hooked up like mines. I pluged a gm2bar in and it worked right away. I have a 1bar wastegate also, so I guess the GM Map sensor will do...
Has anyone ever blown one of these out hooking it up wrong, or got a defective one???

Re: Help w/ Motorla 2.5 bar Map sensor (used2baracer)
i got mine for free from an un-nameable source
i haven't even tried wiring it up yet.
I'm going to build a case for it so i can mount it in the engine bay and not have to worry about it breaking. I'll also graft a stock honda plug on it somehow.

Re: (93turbo16)
I cut up an old MAP sensor for the plug, and soldered a shrinkwrapped a short pigtail to the MAP sensor. Then I encased it in hot glue and put it in a tiny plastic enclosure and mounted it to eh firewall behind the IM so the vac line stays as short as possible.

I have a few in possession right now. I have been toying with selling them on my site but they are so readily available at Digikey...I unno. Seems easy to use them for local guys only.
if you need one, let me know.
