Default help turbo sohc

ok i have a del sol with a d15b7 and a d16y8 head and now i am going turbo so i dont know if i should buy a y8 block or just keep the b7??
and does any 1 know what the compression would be with the y8 and b7 ??

B7 is good to probably 170-180 WHP. The Y8 can hold 210-220 reliably with a good tune. Depends on what your power goals are.

the d15b7 also has smaller rod thickness.

The D15 is a 1.5 Liter and the Y8 is a 1.6 the y8 will make alot more torque and they can handel 10 to 11 psi stock with a good tune

go with a y8 great motors for broke people who want to boost

haha, by a lot more torque he means 5 lbs, maybe. Nothing wrong with the D15 bottom end but with that compression that thing will require serious tuning. I guarantee that thing makes more power all motor than a full y8 would and that compression is sure going to help power out of boost too. Good Luck p.s this is my 1000th post, woot.

dude i got d15b7 boosted, 170whp 160tq @ 8 lbs of boost. beat a grand national that had 278whp and 330tq @ 17lbs of boost. im happy with it, im also tring to build it.

If you can afford it get a y8 bottom end w/ eagle rods and SRP pistons. That's about the cheapest Honda bottom end you can build, and it'll handle 300whp without a sneeze.
