Help!! turbo doesnt spool until 6000-6500K

Default Help!! turbo doesnt spool until 6000-6500K

i am basically using the turbo and intercooler off a Drag GEN III kit but different manifold and HKS 9.7 standard wastegate....but initially it was spooling in @ 5200 which is resonable but now it doesnt come in till 6000-6500....i checked all connections to the intercooler piping, but those have no leaks and intact....PLEASE HELP!!!!!

sounds like there is a leak some where.

Do you have a boost gauge? What is it reading in the low rpms?

Have someone rev your car and you stand by the hood see if you can hear air leaking anywhere.

Could be the wastegate.

well i've check for leaks and vacumm leaks....boost gauge is reading vacumm....wastegate could cause turbo not to spool or at least that late???

ya if its stuck open, it will let all the gasses escape before it reaches the turbo. this will prevent spool. Another thing, make sure your turbo manifold is leak-free. if there are any leaks, it will have the same effect.

well i figured that much...but the thing is that i have a Profec B hooked up unless the Profec is bad making the wastegate stay open???
