Default help with supercharger

im having a problem with my supercharger on my b18c5...first of all the car isnt tuned yet...im just tryin to get it to run right before i get it tuned...now the problem i am having is that when the car first starts up it run fine...then when it starts to heat up it feels like the engine is dragging in first gear and wants to die but doesnt... i have the stock map sensor t'ed off with the fmu to the manifold...if i put the map sensor back on the tb everything runs fine...i am clueless on what to do now...please give me any info to get the car running right...i dont want it to blow up or anything...

Open the bypass, put the fuel back to stock, and take it to the tuner.

Keep the Map sensor on the Throttle body.

so your saying take the fmu out?

but shouldnt the map be on the manifold so the ecu could read boost???

No the Map sensor on a B18c5 is mounted on top of the the trottle body.

and yes that FMU is JUNK.. Might as well kiss your motor good bye. Go with a Chipped P28 and a basemap until you can get it tuned.

OP, I too would greatly recommend ditching the FMU, especially with a Type-R engine with such high compression. Get a chipped ECU and get it tuned. JR setups are prone to high intake temps and the compression of a C5 will be working against you. Detonation can easily be an issue.

I understand you want to get it running. I would recommend buying a base map for your setup, removing the FMU, and taking it to a tuner.

John can set you up with a very safe map allowing you to drive the car to get it properly tuned. If you look at the massive JR setup thread in the FI forum you will see that EVERYONE recommends ditching the FMU.

Did you set the base timing per JR instructions?

Where can i find the part 988-101 for the GSR jrs set up? i bought the charger used and it didnt come with the pulley bracket. it looks like it replaces the stock alternator bracket.
