Help...oil leaking from valve cover!!!
Hey,
My car is currently boosted at 12psi on low boost, and at 16psi on high boost. I have a fully built B16A head with B18C block and SC61 turbo. I also have a B&R Catch Can Kit and vented the valve cover with two 10 AN lines in the rear, and a return line to the block (not in picture). The valve cover was also stripped, the breather hole was welded shut, and it was powder coated.
Well recently we noticed oil leaking from the corner of the valve cover and replaced the gasket. We also hondabonded the **** out of it to secure it tightly! And last week it started leaking again. It's a small leak and I haven't noticed much of a loss of oil when I pull the dipstick, but it's making a mess of my engine bay and needs to be taken care of. I am assuming that it is leaking because of the pressure in the head.
What would you guys suggest I do to take care of this? Any comments are appreciated!
Thanks,
Ken

oe gasket and minimal honda bond works best for me. just in any corner of the head. i dont ever put it on the gasket to hold it in place.
is yours an oe gasket or aftmkt?

Are you torquing the nuts down to spec? If you over tighten them it will crush the gasket down and cause it to leak. I never use any type of gasket sealant on the valve cover gasket. Just put a little bit of oil on the gasket.

Re: Help...oil leaking from valve cover!!! (B R Fittings)
It's an OEM gasket.
No Hondabond on gasket and only on corners of valve cover, lube the gasket up with some oil, and re-torque the nuts to spec.
I will try this and see what happens.
Thanks!!!
