valve cover leaking, help a d-series out :)
cant get this freakin thing to stop leaking, it only does it under load but its destroying the cleanliness of my block and tranny lol!
i have 5w20 in it now so im running way to thin of oil i know upgrading to synthetic rotella 5w40 soon. And yes, i siliconed the corners.
my question are...
-does under the valve cover get pressure built up when under boost loads? i have a catch can hooked up to the breather but im thinking i need to tap another breather with over 15psi?
-if i put the valve cover back on without getting EVERY trace of oil off will it not seal properly and leak?
i would like to fix this issue tonight, my driveway is getting very angry.
thx guys

only leaks under load... hmm
i was running 20psi on mine with no probs. only put a pea sized glob of silicone on each side of the cam caps. leave the rest clean. if your gasket is covered with silicone get a new one, or if it isnt soft get a new one.
thats what works for me, any other way ive tried leaks eventually.
