I have a t3o4e that has about 3000 miles on it and the seals are leaking. i dont know why they are leaking. I bought it new, always let it cool properly, my drain is fine, but it leaks and my car smokes blue when idling. I am running a straight t3 now, and have no problems. i need to find a place that sells the correct seals, its a garrett 57trim t3/04e.

The seals are probably bad because you need an oil restrictor.After you rebuild the turbo make sure you get one of those too.

 

i didnt have a restrictor at first, but i put one on and it still leaked so maybe that caused it.

 

Make sure its not the valve seals first.Pull the ex manifold off and look at the ex ports.If they are wet and oily its probably not the turbo.

 

i bought a used turbo and have been running it for about 3000 miles now and dont have any issues, and i had oil in the intercooler pipingwith the old turbo
