Default Help me wit my Work In Progress.. Lots of Pics

Im sure that i must be getting annoying by now... In a desperate attempt for help with my turbo "re" re installation, I uploaded pics to motivate you to reply to my questions .
SETUP; ON 99 BASE PRELUDE WITH H22A4

Engine:
Stock internals
Stock block
Chrome molly compression rings
Clevite bearings
Comettic Head Gasket
Stock valvetrain
Stock Intake Manifold
Turbonetics 60-1 stage 2 turbin wheel turbo
Log mani, need diff one
Turbonetics evolution wastegate
2.5" Intercooler piping
2.25" Down Pipe, needs to be 2.5"
3" From DP
880cc injectors
Walbro fuel pump
MSD 6 Boost retard ignition
OBD1 Conversion

I was running 10psi daily and made around 290 to wheels. Then trans broke... Basically guys im trying to make the most out of my setup with stock internals, and so far i think i need a diff exhaust mani and bigger DP. I dont want to but a $750 lovefab mani, I do but cant affored it, and i dont want to pay 50 bucks for an ebay one. What should i do????

She is good for something...

Blown Trans

You can get away with the cast log but that tiny turbo is one of your problems. This is a 2.2 L . Its a good amount of dissplacement your trying to cram down that small turbine. Yeah im sure it spools liek a SOB but im will to put good money down that its a turd higher in the rpms. a 57 trim with .63 hotside is at least where you want to be and the cast log will do just fine for stock internals. Even the 2.5 dp is alright so long as your feeding into a 3" exhaust. granted a 3" DP would be better but that 2.5 should be fine for stock internals

What size turbo is better for an h22? 57 .63 turbonetics is rated at 350-500hp. is it overkill?

its not overkill its properly sized to be a smaller turbo for that engine. 2.2 will spool it up well and make great power

For a stock motor, a T3 housing is not too small. I know someone making close to 400whp with a 2.2L motor with a clipped stg1 T3 turbine. I also know many BMW's run t3/t04e's with the stg3 turbine for street cars, and they still make over 400whp.

The real problem/limitation? The pistons. Cast pistons require good tuning and can't take a crapload of power. You can stick to the log, as people have made over 500whp with a good motor on a log manifold. Just get it's headflange milled flat, it seems to leak. The WG is about the only iffy thing on the setup - some people have issues with turbonetics WG's.

The 2.25" DP will hurt a bit, but its not the biggest limitation in the setup. A larger DP will allow you to make more power psi, which means you can run less psi for a particular power goal, helping with the piston problem.

The Deltagate is very unreliable due to its materials and design. The material used in the diaphragm of this wastegate is very well known for degrading due to the high heat (compounded by each heat cycle) it is exposed to. The compact design of the wastegate lends to the degradation of the diaphragm because it allows heat to transfer easily to the diaphragm. (COPIED FROM http://www.beesandgoats.com/boostfaq...html#Wastegate)

For me its the mani, the way it sits the WG on one runner.

Just figured out the turbo size. I gave the guy a turbonetics the measurements and he said it was a 60-1 stage 2 turbine wheel. The actual measurements are COMP: Big; 3" Small; 2.325" EXHAUST: Big; 2.56" Small; 2.125" So now that I know the size, is this the right size for my stock internals h22? Can I passably get 310 to the wheels? And will the turbo fall on its face in the hi RPM?

oh then you have plenty of turbo if its a 60-1 you should be able to obtain 300whp no problem with a good tune

If you want a good manifold get off Honda-tech and go to HMT, The stuff there is not ungodly priced.

That log manifold is going to cause you problems when you try to make power on the stock internals.....H22's need a few things to live with power on the stock internals...A good tune,a good tune,a good tune,a good manifold and lots of luck...

My car has almost 9k miles on the stock internals since boost...11psi on a t4/t67 .82 backside at just over 420whp/315wtq.....9months of DD on E85...

If you want a nice little tubular manifold that isn't an INSANE price. Look at one of these, one of the spoolin performance quick 4 manifolds.
