I just got done installing my drag III kit on my 94 gsr. It runs very rough at idle. also it spools good until i reach like 5,000 rpm's. Then it feels like a fuel cut or something beacase it stops pulling. i have a vacume line ruunning from the turbo to a turbo xs boost controller then a line from the controller to the wastegate. Is this right???? also i have the BOV vacume line tee-tapped into the vacume line off the back of the manifold. Any help would be SOOOOO appreciated. Also i have a HKS SS bov, when i let of the throttle it sounds like a chitter, like a pigeon. Is this compressor surge or is that how these sound i cant tell where it is coming from. thanks

 

what is your fuel setup like?

 

Did you mess with the vac lines for the manifold at all ?

Oh... and fuel setup too...

 

The HKS bov does make kind of a funny sound, thats normal.

 

5,000 RPM feels like a fuel cut....try replacing the spark plugs.

 

are your plugs gapped correctly?

 

Check your fmu...is it on backwards?

 

i have a vortech fmu 12:1 and right now i have ZEX plugs left over from my nitrous set up. the only non stock aspect of my vacume line set up is the nitrous lines for the zex kit. Also its blowing black smooke at idle, i know its running hella rich but how can i lean it out withou an afc??? thanks for the help

 

also what vac line should i be tapped into for the BOV??? im in the fuel pressure line right now does it matter???

 

the hks bov makes a bird chirping noise, so i don't think it is compressor surge.

 

so why would my car be running so rich, i mean even at idle its rich. Once i boost though it goes super lean!!!! i havent hooked up my 255 fuel pump yet but im doing that tonight. any help is appreciated, also im blowin smoke out of my exhaust, allot of it and it looks to be black. it didnt smoke at all before,

 

what does ur fuel system consist of?

 

get rid of those ZEX plugs ASAP....i know of THREE people directly that have had their engines fail due to ZEX plugs. seriously dude, get some NGKs in their NOW.

 

Make sure your fmu is hooked up right and the inline fuel pump is hooked up right and working.

 

you have only the stock pump in there right now?
