Help me out with wastegate springs!
I have a twin gate Tial MVS setup on my car but i am trying to understand the springs to pressure.
I have looked at the Tial website and the spring combo list but its not really answering my questions.
Basically i have a single spring in there at the moment which i believe is grey from memory, so looking at the Tial site that should crack at 0.6bar or 8 psi. However gate pressure on my car is 14psi.
In my logic if i were to refit the second spring that the gate came with which should be 1 bar (14.5~psi) cracking pressure then wouldnt the cracking pressure on my car go up way beyond 1 bar?
The issue i have is that with the single spring i only need to run very low duty on the boost control to get high boost, but what i need to be able to do is control boost in stages for the BBG function. At the moment i cant.
What can i do? Is this a common problem? Ideally i needed cracking pressure to be around 10-12psi so that i can use 1st gear on the strip effectively.
Would really appreciate some help from anyone with similar experiences.....
