Default Help me identify this setup *pics*

My friend bought a car that was someone elses project that they never finished. The car has been sitting for about 3 years total, some outside in the snow , but never bosted. Drove it once for like 20 miles naturally aspirated after the motor was built.
supposedly it has a built motor with stock sleeves, JE pistons 9.0:1 and eagle rods, blueprint and balanced crank.
The guy he bought it from said its a turbonetics t3/t4 hybrid, but i cant tell myself because it looks like someone shaved any lettering off and tried to bling it out.

I said the manifold looks like the turbo was made to be facing the other direction, and it looked like a Garrett to me.
wtf manifold
wtf turbo oil drain

This little green tag says t3/t4, and there are 2 blank fiends ( one says garrett part number next to it) and a serial number.

any guesses?
I'm helping him take off the manifold and going to take the turbo apart and clean it.
Also pulling the motor and taking everything apart to check it out.

Wow, they used SS filler. I love it, everything but the weld is rusted orange. Looks like it was designed for it facing that way actually. Thats how most older kits put the turbo so you can keep AC. In your case I'd only swap it if i was going to redo the oil drain and make a larger DP. I suggest you do both...

It looks very similar to my S-trim's cover. S-trim is a t04b that can push ~350 max. Its also water cooled, so its likely a good turbo - in theory. Looks like you'll have to clean off all of that corrosion, as that white **** will throw off the wheel's balance.

Best thing to do is remove the turbine housing and compressor housing, then measure the two wheel's large and small diameters. If you post that info, identification will be easy.

that manifold is definatly a short tubular built by someone would prob be almost impossible to figure out who but i will say the turbo should be facing the other direction and the oil return line would actually work, i would never run it as it sits.

i'm pretty sure he plans on it, thanks for the info, i'm hoping to see more numbers/AR on the housing, and get a better look at the tag.
its a green aluminum tag, i figured that might be a trademark or something

the tag on the turbo looks like it was just thrown on that turbo. there are holes for it to be riveted on but its just stuck under one of the compressor housing bolts.

Tell your homie to take the time, and take everything off and visually go through it. Especially if you have no idea what it is. You both will feel better. Make sure to use wd40 also.

Definitely redo the oil drain. Use a stainless line, i dont care how high heat some of those rubber hoses say they take! They are very easy to make nowadays!
