Default some eye candy :)

well my jetta is converted to a 16v from an 8v so i'll have way more hp than before my setup will be able to produce over 400whp but my current fueling will limit me to about 300whp
here are pics of my new turbo it's so beautiful should be good for over 400whp
ITS t3/t04e 50 trim .63 a/r stage 3 turbine

and my equal lenght tubular manifold, it has a t4 flange now that is getting changed to a t3 flange

car should be done in about 2-3 weeks i can't wait my old turbo setup was barely 200hp and the new setup will be 300+hp

Because the way the motor is built, they have alot of stroke, more stroke then bore..

sr20s make alot of tq because of the stroke and bore, also, isnt it almost the same in an sr20?

sr20s only make more tq than hp when using a stock turbo. once you reach about 300whp in an sr your tq starts to drop and by 400 and 500 you are reaching 350 or so in the tq numbers. Ka24 motors make more tq than hp until about 450hp when the hp catches up and starts leading. sr20 motors are square IIRC dont remember the #s offhand.

my b18b has an 81x89 bore/stroke, its a strokedo ut motor and doesnt make as much torque as a vw?

you have 89mm stroke...his VW has 92+mm...he has more stroke, therefore more torque.

Im sure there are many other variables as well though.

i'm gonna be running my stock motronic management for now and a 2.0 16v head , the 2.0 head has bigger exhaust ports so it will spool the turbo better

Its not THAT much more stroke tho. Can 3mm make a significant increase in torque?

why do you think people go with lsvtec over gsr motors.. because it has 2mm more of stroke..

Cool project I built a 2.0 cross flow turbo and it put down 220hp and 235tq at 14 psi. That was with a tiny t3 too. It was in a 98 cabrio which made it kinda funny to me. have fun.... Yours is gonna rip!!

yeah i can't wait i should see over 300whp @ a bar of boost the only thing i'm nervous about is now my car will have an interfeirence motor, so if the timing belt goes so does the head i could solve this by notching the pistons but i don;t wanna pull apart my perfect good block

no offense man, but i dont see 300 whp out of that efi system. What injectors, pump, etc?

what block are you mating it to? an aba? or a 9a? Also, the 2l/1.8l head debate is mute on turbo apps. The 1.8 flows more intake side, 2.0 exhaust side. Simple port job w/ a dremel can make them both equal. but since u said you just made ur car an interfernce motor, im assuming u have the aba block.

With that in mind, obd2, and that form of motronic injection-i.e. not boost ready, will not support over 300 whp, esp on 1 bar.

as far as notching pistons- u dont need to do so on aba/16v setup. if you rev the car to 7500- then yes, notching might help. but even if u dont notch it, rev it to 7500, the small valve float will notch them for you. on the other hand- a bigger turbo forcing air in will cause **** to float easier- but where your redline is at w/ that efi, i dont think you will have to worry.

my qustion is, why did you keep the aba block on the setup? why didn't you just use a 9a block? you obviously had to take apart a 9a block to build an aba 16v setup. In addition, why stick w/ the 99 aba block design? it has no oil squiters.

Another thing, what distributor are you using? the efi system you are running runs the distributor off the block. the 16v's distributor runs off the head. so if you run it off the block, how are you driving your oil? as the 9a oil pump, intermediate shaft setup and the abas are not interchangeable.

lastly- the motor is an 82.5 mm bore
