Default Help me Decide Please!! b18b or h22

I have built turbo b18b engine. The dilema is that I want to drop a h22 in and build the h22 and drop my turbo.

I already have the turbo setup minus the turbo manifold if i get a h22.

I have the following on my b18b:
JG Head (P&P, 5valve Angle Job, Chamber Work, milled, etc. )
Ferrea Valves
Crower Springs
Crower Retainers
JG Camgears
Stock Camshafts
JG Edlebrock Intake Manifold
68mm BBk Throttle Body
AEM Fuel Rail
Arias 83mm Pistons 9:1compression
Eagle Rods
New Thrust Washers
New Crank/Rod Bearings
New Eng. Top/Bottom Kit's
Blueprinted and Balance
Crank polished, balanced and worked on
Custom Turbo Race Manifold from South Florida Performance
Sleeved and bored and honed out
etc....

but I want a h22??

What would you do!

I have heard the H22 has fitment problems and also handling problems for Civic HB....why not drop the B18C5 in there?

If I were you, I'd give me your B18B and then take up crafts using popsicle sticks and let your worries go away..

Yeah but I am a str8 line 1320 person. I might be keeping the LS.

Yo pub where are you from?

I might trade my setup for a built h22 setup, but he has no turbo maniofld, etc..

I just ordered my custom manifold from SFP for the b18b and just got my jg intake manifold in the mail.

Decisions., decisions?

I'm in So. MD, Calvert County even. I didn't see you were in DC, that's cool. We should meet up or something sometime.

edit: I actually work in DC during the summer with my dad.

Is this gonna be a track only car? Cuz if you are daily driving it I have heard people complain the H22 is a big to drive daily.....B18C5 is my vote still....unless you don't care about handling then do the H22 torque beast

stick b18b... if you got the $$ to build an h22, spend some more time tuning for more boost. I assume you got a good "standalone" running, but everyone can benefit from a couple days of tuning. If you're happy w/ you boost levels and maps, try setting up a separate map for a really hot day and eventually one for a really cold winter night. To me its really nice to have a "safety" map to run when the conditions aren't ideal. I can run full and hard w/o wondering if I dialed back enough on the boost and so on. Or you can look into water injection (not IC spray) and so on... Course if the displacement bug has a hold on you, I'll gladly take up your "puny" b18 Btw, hows the md/dc/va scene? I'm thinking about coming out of my cave... maybe for a low key h-t meet and run type deal

you do not want a h22 for large boost. its just not practical....physically or financially. keep only the bottom end of your motor and sell the head to someone. put a vtec head on it with gsr cams. port it if you like but thats not needed for under 400 hsp to the wheels. run a big t3/4 and standalone if you can afford it/have someone tune it for you. if not, run the afc/fmu and your full interior hatch will pull 125+mph in the traps and low, low 11's. easy 10's and alot more horsepower with a stand alone and fuel upgrades. easy.

Im staying LS. Who am I going to sell my head to: The head alone is like a 2000.00 which I fucked up on at first. But Oh well stuck with a LS unless someone wants to offer me some loot for the head.

What is a good stand alone or, engine management program to run?

A good standalone may also be a costly one. The AEM EMS seems to be the new one all the kids are getting. It might be a good idea to research and see what exactly you may need. I'd recommend getting something like a Hondata 2b and having somebody else tune it for you. That is what I'm going to do.

Reasons to stick w/ the B18B...

1.) alot more available parts and accessories since it's a B-series block..
2.) should u decide later on, u can resleeve it and make it a 2.0L, essencially creating a stronger B20B (same crank)
3.) better trannies...(b-series)
4.) lighter
5.) no fitment problems or custom mounts..
6.) less money to spend on completely changing ur setup...
