Stock motor vs stock motor in the same chassis, the H22 will shred the b18b along with the b20.

for NA right? lets say we had the option of boost, later on down the road, could the H22 take a boosted *** whooping?
i think the h22 would be a good DD, what about the h22 up against a b16b?

I am not trying to be a dick or anything, but this has been beaten like a red headed stepchild in a third world country.
Search. You can boost anything, just as long as you stay within reasonable boundaries, and get a good tune.
I would go for the b20z, then build it later into a CRVTEC. but thats just me

oh yeah im in this one!!!!
as far as boost goes on stock block people say its not good to boost h22's because of the sleeves made differently. but in my own opinion the pistons will give out before the sleeves do.
ill take a boosted h over a b series anyday. matter of fact h2b ftw!!!!

Round 3....FIGHT!
All these options are good...H2B will have plenty of power and torque, plus nicer gearing with the B tranny...but CRVTEC doesnt sound bad either...all these with boost and a proper tune will get you all you need

CRVTEC isnt a bad setup, the only thing that kills them is the stock compression... then again the setup is great with just a set of high compression pistons (for NA of course).

Are we talking built crvtec or stock block with a vtec head on it?
If by oiling problem you are referring to the oil line that needs to be run to the vtec head, then yes you will need to do that.

honestly, i dunno the real prices on these bamf's but i dont think their that expensive, why are people always so turned on by the b16a2s, i would assume the h22 would be in the same ballpark as the b16a's

Re: (YoungKadafi)
h22s can be had for cheap because they are not that popular of a swap, and are harder to put in than a b-series. Go to Hmotorsonline.com to look at some prices.
When I mentioned CRVTEC, I meant built. Stock wouldnt do much to impress me, but built with high comp pistons and the likes....

Re: (sol2hatch)
YoungKadafi, every setup you are looking into definitly have potential. If your looking to go for a stock setup the h22 would be your best bet but you cant just look at the cost for the motor... you will still need custom mounts and axles at the least, unless you go h2b right off the bat. If you go h2b depending on which kit you go with, you will most likely be able to use b series mounts and axles, or mounts supplied with the kit (referring to the evolution kit)

they dont have oiling problems if done correctly.
h2b will cost you more because of the adapter plate.

a duce duce stock bottom end with pistons and rod has been knowen to handle up to 30 lbs of boost. the jdm 94 h22's have a solid deck. (handles more boost)

Perfectly put H22 > all the set ups you have listed
But I Suggest H2B So Switching Back To B Series Is Only One Mount Away
