Default Help me choose an Intake Manifold for my setup.

I am in the market for a nice Intake Manifold for my built LS Turbo.

Looking for something like a Golden Eagle or any custom intake manifold that is being used in high horsepower cars.

Is JG Edelbrock worth it, or would I be better off putting that on my street car?

If you need specs for the motor, I will be glad to post them up.

You should be looking at manifolds that maximize horsepower within your useable power band.

The JG is rather large for an LS.

You would notice a loss in performance down low, and it wouldn't really start to make up for itself until after 7k rpm.

I like the original Skunk2 IM (not pro series) for boosted LS's.

Quick parts breakdown (Full drag car)
3.307'' JE's
Manley Rods
LoveFab Excaliber
Custom 4" Downpipe
T76 or something in that area.

I know it sounds odd, but jsut go with it and help me.

I don't want petty Skunk 2 **** parts either. Sorry

It doesn't matter if it's a full drag car or not. If you're not revving high enough - you are going to see a LOSS with a huge *** IM.

Suit yourself - run a big huge manifold that will show gains only only in the last 1,000 or so of your powerband.

Unless you can tell me you are revving to 10,000 on your ls (and then I'll ask you what head/cams you're running) then you are robbing yourself of mid range power.

As for the Skunk2 IM being "****" - you make an intake manifold that shows very mild loss on the low end and a significant gain from mid-on up and then you can call it that.

You sound like the typical bandwagoneer - so just do whatever you feel right with rather than call everything other than what you want to hear "****"

Bigger does not = better. . . not even in FI

I understand that I am not going to rev to 10 grand.

I do understand the Skunk 2 has been around a long time, but I don't see them on anything other than street cars really.

I want quality, and something that is gonna stand up. Will Skunk 2 stand up to the test??

Thats why I am asking for other intake manifolds. Kinda a compare-o from the folks on Honda-Tech.

if you making a drag car go ls-vtec then worry about your manifold ls head flow **** compared to vtec head
most people on here know what works so maybe if your goin to make a post like this your should listen to them.

if you are set on the LS, you have to do what you can to make it work.

Head porting is a must. Valvetrain upgrades, essential. Cams - absolutely.

Even if you only make power to 8.7-9k on a ported head, you can still have an amazing setup.

Count your small loss on the top end due to not being able to rev quite as high as leveling the playing field for the extra amount of torque you'll be playing with.
