Help me build a Boosted B20vtec
I am building a B20vtec in a 91 civic hatchback. the block is being worked on by Gord Bush, he's boring it hone deck and balancing it. Should I have it port and polished?. For interals I am puttin in JE 84.5mm low comp pistons with eagel rods stock crank. I am leaving the head, Cams, intake mani and TB stock for now, I also have RC 440 injectors and a custom turbo manifold.
my turbo plan is to go with a Garrett T3/60-1 w/ .82 a/r
COMPRESSOR SPECS:T04S housing flow: 61 lbs/min 781cfm
.70 A/R housing 60 TRIM wheel
TURBINE SPECS:T3
.82 A/R housing HIGH FLOW 76 TRIM stg3 wheel
is that turbo too big for my build? wat size intercooler do I need? and the plan is the car is gonna be DD and drag car. I dont mind the big HP.
your suggestions will be greatly appreciated
thanks

How much horsepower are you looking for? To me, the 60-1 is a pretty monster turbo, and if you aren't looking for those numbers, no sense in having extra lag. The numbers may be easily attainable on a smaller turbo.
So like I said, what are your goals?

A .82 A/R T3/60-1 isn't going to be making much boost at 3500 RPM's, and who told you that stock B20 sleeves were good to 500 WHP? They are way thinner than B18/B16 sleeves, and lots of people crack them just by bolting a mild turbo kit onto a stock motor without a vtec head.

Then you're really silly. You'll take chances destroying your entire bottom end and head, as well as potentially wrecking your turbo so you can cheap out on sleeves right now? It's a thousand dollars that could save you 4000 dollars later.

Exospeed, RS machine, golden eagle, etc. will get it done for a thousand bucks. With the exchange rate being so good for us right now there is no excuse. Point is, you could very easily cost yourself that 2000+ dollar bottom end and more due to a cracked sleeve because you didn't want to sleeve it to start.
