Default turbo size/spec recommendation?

i plan on autox/roadracing, but i do want to bring the car to the drag strip every now and then. i want to keep all the internals of my b18c1 relatively stock, and also use the stock ecu. could anyone recommend a turbo for this application. planning on boosting no more than 7-8 lbs. i wanted a T3/T04E, but im kinda losing interest in big hp and looking more for quick response. my goal is 230-260whp. i know the t04e can get me there, but i think it will spool too slowly to be effective for autox/roadracing. any opinion/input is greatly appreciated. TIA

one thing i learned is that spool has a lot more to do with turbine wheel geometry than compressor wheel sizing.

if you really want some spool, then get the .48 a/r on the t3 turbine. it wont flow exhaust gases on the top end like the .63 but it'll spool mighty damn quick.

i'd mate that to a .54 trim t04e and i think you'd have a good car with sick mid-rpm coming out of the corner characteristics. get some good tires and a quaife differential and rip it up.

why don't you supercharge...i believe that is more ideal for a autox/road racing vehicle.....I remember telling RRE that I was interested in road racing and they were like you're going to blow your engine, and that I was going to always watch my EGT for constantly hitting your boost over and over and over again....correct me if i'm wrong..the jackson eaton roots type blower is instant...while the vortech centrifugal type needs to build boost....I might be wrong....flame me if i'm wrong i deserve it!

i thought about supercharging, but i hear a lot of negative things about not being able to cool the intake charge. i dont mind trying autox with turbo, i really enjoyed my turbo accord. thanks for the suggestion though.

also, what would be the max hp a t04E with a .48 a/r be able to provide?

I would get a Precision SC50 with a .48 turbine housing.

Should be good for 300+HP, yet spool VERY fast with the B18C.
