Default Help an Idiot learn.

Theoretically, if I had a B18 and an H22 sitting in two identical cars, both with gt35's. What differences would one see? Will an H22 spool a gt35 quicker than a B18? How much does engine size affect spool?

Yes bigger motor means faster spools, no replacement for displacement. And it will be a large difference.

I know its going to vary motor to motor, but how much sooner would the h22 hit full boost? 2-3k?

The engine is 2.2 / 1.8 = 1.22 times larger in displacement so roughly 20% faster. Maybe 800-1000rpm, depending on the size of the turbo.

The h22 will defiently spool the 35r faster than the ls motor; however, when you hit full boost will depend on how many psi you are running. If your running 7psi its gonna spool that hellafast, but if your running 30psi it will take longer to spool 30psi then 7psi. The size of the motor affects spool time 110%. Try putting a 40r on a single cam and then put one on a h22 lol. You'll learn real fast how much the size of the motor effects spool time. Also Honda motors have great volmetric effeciency which is why a 1.8 can spool a cumming diesal turbo that some motors alot bigger would have trouble spooling.
