Default Help with CBR coils on Length

Seems my CBR coils are about a 1/2inch too short or so. Which year or specific coil is the longer model? I have heard there is a short and a longer version. Thanks guys

I just measured my coil. It is 5".

Part #: Denso 129700-4510.

Seems I have the short ones. What is the PN for the longer ones?

What year are your CBR coils from? Are you using removable tip spark plugs? I have a set of 2001 954rr CBR coils at the shop if you need a set, even have the OEM coil harness with them. PM me if you need them, I'll sell them to you for what i paid for them.

if i recall correctly the f4i, and 929 also use the same coils. but the 600rr doesnt, beleive that uses the shorter coil you have. found that one out the hard way.

The IK27's are good and aren't TOO bad. If your tune is good, you shouldn't go through them too fast.

What plug is a IK27? How much are they and where can I get them, thanks.

Well, after search, it is a Denso plug, heat range 27. That sounds odd

Heat range 27 in the Denso is equivalent to a NGK heat range 8-9. Cheapest i found the 27's online was around 10.00 a plug. Autolite makes removable tip plug that is like 1.50 but only in a heat range 7. I have used them before and work really well.

denso makes k22pr-u plugs that work as well, similar to heat range 7. and not too expensive.

denso compared to ngk
22=7
24=8
27=9
30=10
