b16 with msd sci, have 1 degree cooler plugs but no spark, help? we were tuning it yesterday and it stalled when we got on it. i have 1 degree colder ngk plugs, but i tested it for spark and got nothing, fried coil????

are you using an external coil with the sci? if so it MIGHT be the coil. the first thing i would check would be the wire that goes from the coil to the distributor. ( especially if its one of the ones that you had to cut to length and crimp the end on yourself. alot of times the end you wrap to crimp can slide and form a bad connection) it sounds wierd but i had the same problem... mine was fine for over a month and then suddenly i went to start it and NOTHING. it was a ten min fix but talk about a headache.

Id rip that msd right out no need for it, Mine blew my ignitor out in 2 weeks

mine has been on there for 5 years, and it took that long to kill the coil.

with the key on, take the white wire from the msd box. ground it, remove it. the coil should light at that point. if it doesnt, then the coil is bad.
