i have a fully built d series motor... finally got all the parts i needed to try to start it up... well it starts but as soon as i give it gas it wants to die... idles around 1k... im throwing code 22 vtec press (not hooked up yet) and 91 fuel tank press or something like that... i think its my timing but not sure just wanted to see what u guys thought... code 91 didnt pop up til i messed around with the fuel rail... i had an AEM rail but was leaking fuel at the end... so i swapped over back to stock and after that it threw code 91...but still did the samething when it wasnt throwing code 91.... i also extended the fuel line that goes to the FPR (dont know if that matters or not) because on the aem rail the FPR sits at the driver side... stock is at the passerger side.... and one more thing how do u tell if u have a z6 or y8 cam gear? because the cam gear seems to be off on the side markings...

compression 180 across... could it as be bad gas??? swap out fuel pump and still doing the same thing... i need help....

Maybe its not getting enough gas. Are there fuel leaks? is the VAC line on the FPR? I bet its something small you over looked.

where do you have that cam gear set at right now. I have the zex stage 2 cam in my boosted y8 with the cam gear set at -3. I know if I try setting the cam gear to 0 degrees I can only pull a max of 6 degrees of ignition timing with the dizzy fully advanced. The zex cam is really weird and seems to need to be degreed to find the actual 0 degree mark. Not that this is your problem, but I know my car ran like **** when I tried setting it at 0 before. Oh and also i'm pretty sure the skunk2 cam gear is for a z6. Believe it or not a lot of companies advertising their cam gears for a y8 are really all for z6's. On y8 cam gears the cam key slot is about 4.75 degrees or something like that off from the z6 cam gear. One of the only ones I know of is the aem y8 cam gear. It shouldn't matter for you though because the cam is made for a z6 and the z6 cam gear should work perfectly with it.

no gas leaks... and yes vac line is on the FPR... i checked the plugs and there all black...
i have the y8 cam... 105300 or something like that...

if u gas it slowly itll go but as soon as u give it more(press the gas pedal fast) it wants to die...
