Re: Help! Car runs like a subaru.. Bent valve??
I totally agree. But in hindsight i would still have done the deal. I upgraded in literally every way, except for the engine (which may not even be bad). I traded a dirty title eg hatch, with frame damage and desperately body work and needed paint. For a clean title, flawless em1 with a full name brand turbo kit, buddy club coilovers and lsd. Im glad to be away from my eg. The crappy part is i JUST had the engine rebuilt in the eg like 2 months ago. But i had went into this deal knowing it was a risk, and factored in that i may need a new engine. IF that was/is the case, i was just going to save up and buy an ERL shortblock and be done with it. At the end of the day, i pretty much have my dream car now. I have all the major parts, the rest is just details. Its not my DD, so i can take as much time as i need.

Dell D620 or D630 on flea bay... $100 all day long and even has a serial port in case you need to tune an ecu that requires that.
I got mine for $96 with a working battery that lasts about 1.5 hours.

I pulled the injectors and checked OHMs and got 12.1-12.6 on all 4. This is straight from the Injector Dynamics website
I guess I will call them tomorrow and see if those are acceptable results. But they appear to be completely fine, from what im reading.
All ID injector coils have resistance values between 8.5 and 12 ohms.

Ok, so i put the injectors back in. I dont have a tester to see if im getting injector pulse (noid tester??), so i went old school and just unplugged each injector indivudually. Anyways i unplugged the #1 injector, and it made NO difference. So my problem is obviously in my wiring somewhere. Atleast i know whats wrong, and i dont have a bent valve or busted ringlands! So relieved right now..damn!

I turned the key on and tested the injector clip with a test light and its getting power. How can i test the other wire? I believe it goes to the ecu (a2?). I guess i could check continuity between the injector clip and ecu clip, right?

Okay, so im getting power to the yellow/black wire. And i have continuity between the brown wire at the injector clip, and A1 on the jumper harness where it plugs into the ecu. Anyone have an ideas?

I told you it wasn't a head or bottom end problem earlier on... damn kids. You injector driver circuit could have failed for #1. Just to make sure you are NOT running a resistor box for the injectors, correct? Do you have an ECU you can swap in to be sure its an ECU issue? Or you could try switching the injectors around to see if the problem follows the injector.
PS - You dont have to take injectors out to OHM them...

No resistor box. And i do not have an ecu to swap in. I switched injectors the other day, so the original #1 injector is in #2 right now. And i pulled them to inspect the nozzles. But they looked fine.

Im going to pull the cover off the ECU and see if i have continuity between the internal and external pin. I found someone with an ECU i can try, but not until Saturday. A tuner i talked to said something about an injector driver as well. What exactly is that? Im not familiar with the term..but ill read up on it right now.

FIXED!! It was the cheap *** ebay jumper harness. Idk why anyone would waste their money on such garbage. Its crazy to me.. Anyways, i went to SpeedFactory and bought a quality obd2b to obd1 jumper harness. Runs fine now.
Thanks for the help N3va and everyone else.. glad it was a relatively cheap fix!

Glad to hear, but next time always check to the ECU side of the plug for continuity. My fault for assuming you did that, either way all signs pointed away from mechanical problems. Enjoy your car!
