Default Hel pme out here...which one and why?

Hey guys. It's me again. I'm torn between the Haltech system and the Hondata stage 4 system. The Hondata will be more expensive because of the tuning tools and everything, but it's a plug and play affair. I'm ordering one from b20c5 this Monday. The thing I like about the Haltech is the barometric sensor, I can basically run at any sea level. My car will be daily driven too. Marc(b20c5)said that he can make my stock harness work with the haltech ecu. The Haltech will run roughly $1300 with the conversion harness and everything, the hondata will be even more expensive(I'm guessing over 1500 bucks with the stage4, boost, and tuning tools). Help me decide and give me a good explaination.

I dont see why the Hondata is $1500. Its actually $1100. Unless U are being charged for tuning. see http://www.hondata.com

Link plug and play ECU board with ECU case OBD2 connectors (10-minute install)
Link Tuning Module (handheld module for adjustments on the fly)
Serial Link Data Module with connection harness (interface box to laptop)
GM 3 bar map sensor (high boost capability)
Telex and WAR datalogging software for laptop use (full visual and realtime display)
Link Injector Resistance Box (allows low impedance injectors to be used)
RC engineering 550cc injectors (only 2k miles on these)
****All instructions included****
Go to http://www.carmodifications.com for full details on the system
For accessories that I am including with the link system, go to: http://www.carmodifications.com/Link...ink-tuning.htm
Your stock map sensor goes to 11 psi, higher than 11 psi will require the 3 bar map
sensor. Remember: the system is plug and play and there is a base program
with boost mapping on the ECU you can use to start tuning from. For, all motor,
supercharged, turbocharged integras and civic running with an OBD2 ECU connector...
OBD1 vehicles can also use this system, but will require a harness adapter from OBD1
to OBD2. The Link system removes all OBD2 junk, no more CELs! No chip burning,
no OBD2 restrictions, no boost limit with a 3 bar map sensor, no add on controllers,
no FMUs, no inline fuel pumps, no high fuel pressures!!!!!!! The entire setup cost me
$1900 ($300 for the injectors, $1400 for the link system, $100 for the injector box,
$100 for the map sensor) used for 1k miles; i'm taking a loss and selling the system for:
$1350 shipped

its all about the haltech or link. Burning chips is not ideal in my book. but it might be something to consider though. I mean alot of people are making them work really well.

While thats a good idea, the real problem lies in the tuning, With a DFI or Haltech U will be able to find someone just about anywhere who can tune it, this is so because they are so popular. almost everyone running a stand alone has either a Haltech or DFI, they are also tried and true, Link on the other hand is not as popular and I am not even sure they are still in production ( correct me if I am wrong). Personally I will get the DFI

save yourself. Call up Doug at Hondata, and he'll set you up with the prices you'll need for your set up. If you're guessing at prices, then you're not giving the Hondata a fair shake. Also, the Hondata (since it is a modified OEM ECU), has the same capabilities for correction as the factory ECU would as far as elevation, intake temperature, and other such parameter corrections.

exactly what the link is...
except no such thing as removing chips to burn, etc...

the link comes with a program much like the stock honda ecu...
three setting adjustments prior to startup... (map sensor, tps correction, master fuel %)
and bam... you car will start up...

$1350 with injectors, resistance box, and a 3 bar map sensor is a hell of a deal.....

the link is awesome for a street car looking for complete fuel, timing, and engine management adjustability...

one thing...the link is only od2 compliant right? About the price I have for Hondata, that's with the tuning tools and everything. I don't have a hondata dealer near me.

I called up atomic today because I know they have experience with both. THey told me that the hondata is a good choice if you're not gonna go all out in the future. The Haltech would be a good investment as tuning capabilities are far more vast and it has the potential to run a high horsepower application in the future, which is next season's motor.

Well, I'm calling up Mark tommmorow to verify the Haltech order.
