Default heat wrapped manifold

I have an Ssautochrome tubular manifold and I was wondering if I should heat wrap it. I know these manis are prone to cracking so I don't know if heat wrap will make it less likely to crack or more likely. Thanks for any info

Well my brother heat wrapped his and it lasted longer than I thought it would. Lasted for 3 track events with about 10 runs each. So 30 runs total on a 400whp ls.

Lol, it lasted 30 runs?

Lets say each run took 13 seconds, that means that manifold lasted six and a half minutes.

Heat wrapping will cut the life of a cheap manifold significantly from what I've seen on a V8 application.

Heat wrapping usually isn't good for a manifold, but in this case you may actually be helping it. The heat wrap might actually hold it together better....its probably stronger than the metal on that mani

You should sell it before it cracks and get a better brand name manifold - thats the first thing I would do, but that's just me lol - maybe you would get lucky with it like some people have ...

I would have told you to ceramic coat it but I don't think it's worth the trouble on that mani. I say heat wrap it, save up for a better mani and get it ceramic coated.

seriously, I bought one of those years ago and it worked great until I got the car running that thing lasted less than 1000 miles before my wastegate fell off. the only thing that caught it was the vacuum hose. It was braced in several spots. hell Ill give you the p.o.s if you wanna pay for shipping. It isnt worth your time let alone money to wrap that manifold. sell it and get a 1love log manifold for around 350$. it'll support 350-400hp
