melting dipsticks, what can I do?

Try bending the dipstick so it doesn't touch or sit as close to the manifold. You can also try wrapping the manifold with some heat wrap, and using some Thermo Shield tape on the dipstick.

This happened to me at first, too. As the guy before me said, bend it slightly toward the cabin so it doesn't contact the manifold. Worked for me.
