This thread inspired me to not take any chances with my new turbo and setup. Thumbs up to Pure Turbos for sending my new turbo to ATP wrap for the Inconel treatment.

How much did that cost? If ATP would just sell the sheets I could do everything myself

It is roughly $350 ............. not for the faint of heart hopefully it performs as good as it looks. ATP has extremely quick turn around they received my Turbo on Wednesday they don't work on Friday and it will ship today,Tuesday. They might sell you the sheets give them a call and see what they say.

That looks pretty sick, I was talking to Charles at Pure Turbos about ATP. It definitely looks like it will be effective. Let us know what you think about it once its installed.

Yea radiant heat can soak into the intercooler and prematurely raise IATs

I never know why people goto summit, I can get the same thing online cheaper, no handling fee and no sales tax (although I don't pay that in the first place, yay tax Id lol)

Titan, if you ever want the good stuff at a better price, pm me a list and I'll see what I can do/find

It's the least I can do for someone who lays their life on the line everyday for others.

Thanks a lot for the offer. I drive down to summit mainly because I'm impatient lol. I'll drive down as long as their price is close to what I see online. Again thanks for the offer, might take you up on that.

Have a few updates. I was able to build my Cold Air Intake box for my turbo this past weekend. Came out pretty nice. I made a template out of card board and then went back and transferred the template to some sheet metal that I had. All I have to do now is purchase a 3" hole saw and weld some tabs for mounting. I'm also going to fab some 3" piping from the intake box to my turbo. This should lower both my charge piping temperatures and intake air temperatures for sure! The intake box and pipe will be wrapped in the reflect a gold heat tape after more data is taken.

I would cut a hole in the bottom of the box where the existing hole is in the unibody, attach some brake ducting as to insure a good supply of the coolest air possible.

And why go from Rome to south ga? Fuel costs more than their shipping :p

But if you're ever in the Johns creek/alpharetta area, pm me

Cutting a hole in the bottom to go through the frame rail is definitely the plan as soon as I get a hole saw! lol I was considering the brake ducting but I'm going to use 3" metal pipe instead and fab it up how I need it. Will probably run it to the fog light hole that I'm not able to use anymore because of the intercooler piping. To answer the question about driving to summit, I'm impatient and drive a fuel efficient car, that why lol. Plus it's a fun trip and I always pick up things that I've forgotten about while I'm there.

Just by wrapping my header I went from 220 miles to a tank, to 260. Definitely does have its gains, but the corrsion factor kinda sucks. Also my car is N/A.

Honestly the proper ducting, the orange heat resistant stuff used for brake ducts is much better, we use it on our road race z06 with some serious blower fans. It has a metal spiral on the outside of the silicone to strengthen and make the pipe more rigid.. it would definitely give you more freedom to route wherever you'd need to

Also, I'm assuming the car doesn't have ac? If not, make a panel to replace thw condensor.. it would go in between the radiator and the unibody of the car, this will not only force more air through the radiator, effectively increasing cooling efficiency but it will also lower underhood ambient temps

Thanks a lot. I was like you, didn't know if I wanted to use the existing hole in the frame rail or go through the fender area. I ended up going through the existing hole. From the bottom of the intake box I'm going to use some of the flexible piping that everyone is talking about and route it to my fog light housing to get plenty of fresh air.

Your exactly right about the panel so more air can be routed to the radiator. That will be my next project for sure. But eventually I'm going to try and get the a/c back on the car. You know how it gets here in Ga!! lol

Got the cold air intake box done today, forgot to take a picture after I ran to autozone and grabbed another coupler, but its on there. Not really sure if my mind is playing tricks on me but it does feel like the car pulls a little different. I'm pulling fresh air from the frame rail right now, but I'm eventually going to run a pipe to the existing fog light housing for even colder air. On to the pics (oh yeah I ran out of the gold heat tape) and don't laugh at my crappy welding. Will have some data very soon to document any changes in my IAT's.
