head work on high hp app?
i'm wondering what kind of head work do people with high hp do. i am in the process of building my car and im just wondering what people usually build up on their cylinder head. I know stock heads can make a lot of power and etc. Dohc Vtec heads only plz.

You really don't need headwork to make serious power with a good turbo setup.
But that doesn't mean you won't benefit from it. I know that my cars setup is really efficient due to the fact that my head has been reworked. If my head were stock I wouldn't be making the power I am making.

Square head by milling the deck parallel to the camshaft bores.
Mill chamber reliefs around each valve seat.
Custom radius/discrete valve job. Larger than stock seats at no additional charge. Seat heights set to within .001" intake and exhaust to insure the same piston to valve clearance in each cylinder.
Rework port bowls and blend into seat asymmetric seat radii.
Blend and smooth chamber.
Match intake entries and exhaust port exits Mill head to CC specification.
Full chamber rework.
Full intake port rework.
Full exhaust port rework.
those are a few of the things I know of that some people are running making over 500whp.

To me that just alot of wasted money when u can easly make over 500 with a stock head.. now if it were on an all-motor setup the i'd say hell yea.....
